Amelia Han Riegert

Worship Music Coordinator & Principal Accompanist

Amelia was born in Singapore and lived in several Southeast Asian countries as a child of mission workers. She started playing the organ for church as a teenager and cannot remember a time she has not played for church since then. Her parents always encouraged her to strive for excellence and use her musical gifts in honor of her Creator. Her desire to pursue a music degree led her to Newbold College in England where she obtained a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. She moved to the United States in 1998 to attend graduate school at San Jose State University.
Amelia joined the Lynnewood staff in January 2014 initially as church organist. Since then, her responsibilities have expanded and she now serves as Principal Accompanist and Worship Music Coordinator. As a church musician, Amelia does not see her role as a performer but rather as a worshiper presenting her gifts to God while helping fellow worshipers draw closer to Him. In addition to serving at Lynnewood, Amelia also serves as organist/pianist for the Sunnyvale Seventh-Day Adventist Church and teaches piano. In her past life, she has been an office administrator, college instructor, marketing executive, and English language instructor.
Amelia lives in Saratoga with her husband, David Riegert, a professional musician, recording engineer, and math tutor, and their two cats, Patches and Lipton.
