Help the victims of hurricanes, earthquake, and wildfires through UMCOR
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the globe. UMCOR’s work includes programs and projects in disaster response, health, sustainable agriculture, food security, relief supplies, and more.
UMCOR is currently working with disaster coordinators and early response teams at the affected sites to provide relief to the many people whose lives have been impacted by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, by the tremendous earthquake in Mexico City, and by the wildfires in California.
Please continue to pray for those whose lives have been impacted by these natural disasters. Please also pray for the Early Response Teams, disaster coordinators, and many volunteers. Partner with UMCOR in responding to the needs of communities and individuals impacted by making your donation.
Click to see the ways you can help on UMCOR’s Hurricane Harvey, Irma, Maria, the Mexican earthquake and the forest fires pages. To give locally, please write your check to ‘Lynnewood UMC’ and write “Hurricane xxxx” “Mexico earthquake” on the memo line. You can send your check to church or give it during the offering time on Sunday, and it will be sent to UMCOR. 100% of your giving will go towards the relief effort and supporting the victims.
There is a special need for support sent directly to the UMC churches in the Santa Rosa and Napa areas that are serving as shelters and ministering to fire victims. If you wish to support that effort directly, write a check to ‘Lynnewood UMC’ and write “North Bay Fires” on the memo line.
If you have any questions, please contact the office.
